1. Introduction

Welcome to YouTypeFree (“we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, services, and any related features (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Definitions

“User” means any person who accesses or uses the Service. “Account” means a registered profile used to access premium features. “TTS” refers to text-to-speech conversions provided via Tencent Cloud APIs or similar providers.

3. Eligibility and Account

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your Account.

4. License and Acceptable Use

  • Use the Service for lawful purposes only.
  • Do not reverse engineer or circumvent technical protections.
  • Do not upload illegal, harassing, hateful, or infringing content.
  • Respect quotas, rate limits, and system integrity.

5. Plans, Quotas, and Usage

Free users may perform up to 1 conversion per day. Standard users may perform up to 100 conversions per month; Premium users may perform up to 500 conversions per month. Quotas reset based on your plan’s cycle and may be adjusted for abuse, system integrity, or maintenance.

Handwriting OCR quotas (daily): Free accounts may perform 1 OCR recognition per day; Standard accounts may perform up to 20 OCR recognitions per day; Premium accounts may perform up to 100 OCR recognitions per day. OCR quotas reset daily.

Printed OCR quotas (daily): Free accounts may perform 1 OCR recognition per day; Standard accounts may perform up to 20 OCR recognitions per day; Premium accounts may perform up to 100 OCR recognitions per day. OCR quotas reset daily.

6. Content and Ownership

Users are solely responsible for the text they submit for TTS. You represent that you have all necessary rights to the text you provide. We do not claim ownership of your text; however, you grant us the necessary rights to process it for TTS output and to store it temporarily for delivery and troubleshooting.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service may depend on third-party providers (e.g., Tencent Cloud). Availability, voice quality, and performance may vary. We disclaim liability for outages or changes caused by third-party services beyond our control.

Handwriting OCR is powered by Tencent Cloud OCR APIs (HandwritingEssayOCR). Printed OCR is powered by Tencent Cloud OCR APIs (GeneralBasicOCR). By using OCR features, you acknowledge that images you submit are transmitted to and processed by Tencent Cloud to provide recognition results.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

9. Payment and Billing

Paid plans require a valid payment method. Fees are billed in USD unless stated otherwise. Taxes may apply. You are responsible for accurate billing information.

10. Refunds

Refund eligibility is governed by our Refund Policy. Generally, digital services are refundable only under limited conditions.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

12. Limitation of Liability

We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for lost profits or data.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, misuse of the Service, or breach of these Terms.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time for violations, abuse, or security reasons.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by applicable laws in our principal place of business.
